Why You Can't Get Adequate Heat Throughout Your Home

If you have found that you are not able to get an adequate amount of heat throughout your entire home, you are going to want to put in a little time to figure out why that is. This way, you and your loved ones will not have to go through the entire winter with less-than-quality heating in the home. Here are some reasons why you might not be getting enough heat.

The Furnace Blower Fan Is Malfunctioning

Even if the furnace is able to produce a lot of heat, if the fan that pushes it out of the furnace and through your ductwork is not working properly, some of the rooms in the house may not get much forced air. Meanwhile, the rooms closest to the furnace may have a comfortable temperature. You are going to need to have an HVAC technician come to your home and open up your furnace in order to determine if this is indeed the cause of your heating troubles.

There Is A Break In The Duct Work

The ductwork that runs throughout your home, behind the walls, is usually secured very well. However, over the years, some of the connector pieces can begin to loosen. This can cause pieces of the ductwork to disconnect from each other, creating either a small crack or a complete disconnection between two pieces.

When this occurs, any forced air that goes that direction will not completely make it to the rooms that the ductwork is leading to. A lot of the air, or possibly all of it, will end up behind the walls, which does not do any good when it comes to trying to keep your family warm on a cold winter night. The thing is, there is no way for you to determine if this is the cause unless you are going to start ripping out all of the walls in your house.

A better idea, which is also cheaper and cleaner, would be to hire an HVAC technician who can send a small camera through the ductwork system. With the help of that camera and the footage it captures, the technician will be able to determine if there is a ductwork problem as well as its exact location.

When you find that is causing the problem with heat distribution throughout the house, you will be able to hire someone to fix it. This way, you and your family will not have to go through the entire winter feeling less than comfortable. For more information, contact a company like Aggressive Mechanical Contractors, Inc.
